Start by purchasing photo storage boxes. You can find them at Ikea, Walmart, Target or The Container Store. They are available in a wide variety of colors and prints.
You may choose to divide your photos into categories such as "Vacations", "Holidays", "Family", Children's names or simply by "Years". Label your photo boxes accordingly and start filling them up and weeding out undesirable photos as you go. Most photo boxes come with dividers that you can write on and separate photos within the photo box.
Want to be the envy of all your friends and family? Turn your memorable photos into actual photo books. Seem overwhelming? It's not!!! Decide on what kind of photo book you would like to make, i.e. Children's Life Book, Family Vacation, Special Birthday, Grandparents, Christmas thru the years...the ideas are endless.
Now that your photos are somewhat organized in your photo boxes, all you have to do is go thru and choose which special photos you want included in a photo book, arrange them in order and scan those photos onto a CD. You can do this yourself or take to a camera shop such as Wolf Camera.
Once you have your photos scanned onto a CD you have what you need to make a photo book.
